‘Bridget Jones: Baby' Teaser: Set Photos Reveal Bridget, Mark Darcy's Baby
Photos from the set of "Bridget Jones: Baby" in London posted online gave viewers their first glimpse at Mark Darcy and Bridget Jones' baby. The photos also tease a possible film spoiler involving a Christening.
One of the photos posted by Mail Online shows Renee Zellweger, who plays the titular role, and Colin Firth, who plays Mr. Darcy, looking all dressed up. Renee is cradling a baby on her arm and Colin is seen kissing the baby's head. He was also photographed planting a kiss on Renee's forehead. Several shots also showed Renee, wearing a green dress topped with a white blazer, walking while cradling the baby in her arms.
According to Mail Online, the photos were taken at a church in Oxfordshire, which suggests a Christening scene was being filmed. So far fans of the "Bridget Jones" film franchise are only given a glimpse of the baby's head from the set photos.
Last week several shots from the London set of "Bridget Jones: Baby" were also posted by Mail Online. Renee and her on-screen father, played by Jim Broadbent, were snapped having a father-to-daughter conversation in one of the white huts at Greenwich park. In one photo posted by the site, the pair seemed to be engaged in a serious heart-to-heart talk as Jim held Renee close to him with his arm on her shoulder.
Fans have yet to see Patrick Dempsey on the set of "Bridget Jones: Baby." The actor was cast for the role after his exit in the hospital drama "Grey's Anatomy." However, very few details have been revealed so far regarding his character in the third film. According to Vanity Fair, it's possible that Dempsey is filling in for Hugh Grant's role as Daniel Cleaver since the latter has decided not to join the sequel. So it's likely there will be a love triangle scenario again in the sequel with Dempsey's involvement.
What fans have seen so far of Dempsey being in "Bridget Jones: Baby" is from his Instagram photo. Last month the actor shared a snap of himself standing on a cobbled walkway leading up to a white mansion. He captioned his picture, "Nice to be working in England. Renee and Colin are an absolute joy to work with! A good couple of days rehearsing at Pinewood Studios. I really like it here!"
"Bridget Jones: Baby" will reportedly be based on the columns written by Helen Fielding. The story will not follow her novel "Mad About The Boy," where Colin Firth's Mr. Darcy is already dead and Bridget has two children.
