The 2015 American Music Awards (AMA) will get the British flavor once more as One Direction gets confirmed as part of this year's lineup, capping off a string of achievements the band has enjoyed as of late.

According to a report from Billboard, the boy band will put on a performance of their new single "Perfect" during the awards show on Nov. 22 at the Los Angeles Microsoft Theater. The group will not just be performers at the event, but possible awardees too, as the four-piece band are also nominated in two categories including Artist of the Year.

The announcement was also unveiled on Twitter, where the AMA official account posted a tweet that said, "Baby, @onedirection is PERFORMING at the #AMAs for YOU! They're performing PERFECT! LIVE, 11/22 on ABC. #AMAs1D"

Other confirmed performers include Jennifer Lopez who will also be the host of the show, 5 Seconds of Summer, Selena Gomez and Carrie Underwood.

The song choice is a good one for One Direction as the song has made waves on the charts and social media as soon as it was released.

A report from Billboard revealed that the record-breaking "Perfect" is the foursome's fifth top 10 debut on the Hot 100, breaking the Beatles' previous record of four and giving One Direction the record of most top 10 starts among groups in history.

Certainly, the accomplishment is a big one as the Beatles is one of the most influential musicians in history. However, the "Perfect" track stands on its own as one of the more high-profile songs in the new One Direction album as it's allegedly about Harry Style's failed romance with another industry big name, Taylor Swift.

Many have assumed it's true, but a report from M Magazine revealed that Simon Cowell denied it in behalf of his band, saying, "No one told me it was about Taylor. I think people might infer it, but I was never told that, no."

The best-selling pop princess, who is also often inspired by relationships as she writes her own songs, apparently does not mind being the subject of an ex-boyfriend's music, according to a report from Hollywood Life.

"Taylor isn't coming out and bragging that the song's about her, but the word is she's happy about it," a source told Hollywood Life. "It's a great song, why wouldn't she be?"

With both Styles and Swift at the AMAs on November, One Direction's "Perfect" performance is sure to be a noteworthy one.
