The upcoming DC Entertainment and Marvel Studios film "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is reportedly in the works. The franchise is currently completing its list of cast members that already includes the film's stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel for the anticipated release date in May 2017.

Variety reports that Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey was offered the role of Spiderman's nemesis Norman Osborn, but later on declined by reasons which are yet to be determined. However, it has been reported that the search is still in process and the franchise's director/writer James Gunn wants big-named actors in the second franchise.

Screen Rant further reports that the decision for the final cast members of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will soon be announced in the coming weeks. Not only that, Variety reported that despite the decline of McConaughey to star in the film, another actor, however, was added to the list. She is none other than "Oldboy" actress Pon Klementieff.

As the franchise's executives, including Gunn, search for possible women actors for the franchise, Klementieff's name apparently showed up, and they were greatly impressed with her performance.

Klementieff is known to be good in action-packed films including Spike Lee's Korean thriller remake that demanded great physical activities like martial arts that could be an advantage that the executives have seen in Klementieff, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Meanwhile, the actress is also included in films such as "Loup" in 2009, "Sleepless Night" in 2011 and yet another upcoming flick, "Hacker's Game," according to a report from Coming Soon.

Variety notes that the "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is speculated to premiere on May 5, 2017 and filming will start in early 2016. Meanwhile, there are only a few details released regarding the upcoming film, including the characters that will be featured for its second franchise.

Screen Rant reports that the father of Peter Quill or Star-Lord played by actor Pratt will be appearing in the second film. The character is reportedly one of the major characters in the film, where the plot will mostly circulate, but no actor have been chosen for the role.

Since the film is said to be a story about fathers, Quill's father is the one to look out for as the movie executives continue their search for the completion of the film cast members.
