Mexico Will Participate in 2015 Miss Universe Pageant
After boycotting the event earlier this year, Mexico announced on Thursday that it will be participating in the 2015 Miss Universe pageant.
According to TVNotas, the Miss Universe organization released a press release confirming the country's participation in this year's competition. Mexico will be represented by Nuestra Belleza Mexico winner Wendolly Esparza Delgadillo.
The beauty queen posted a video on the official Nuestra Belleza Mexico Instagram account that confirmed her participation in the pageant.
"With this video I confirm a commitment that began a year ago. The circumstances have changed and Mexico is welcome once again and I can share the many virtues of my country. Thank you to those who have always shown their patience, loyalty, optimism and most importantly sent their blessings. MEXICO IS BACK IN MISS UNIVERSE!" she captioned the video on Instagram.

By "the circumstances have changed" the model was referring to the fact that Donald Trump is no longer associated with the Miss Universe organization, reported Fox News Latino.
In June, Mexico announced it would boycott the Miss Universe pageant because of the racist comments made by the organization's owner and Republican presidential candidate.
After it was revealed that Trump sold the Miss Universe pageant to the WME/IMG talent agency, Televisa Group and the Nuestra Belleza Mexico organization made the decision to return to the competition.
"I have prepared arduously for this crown and that's why I'm so proud to tell you that Mexico is returning to Miss Universe. I'll give it everything I've got," Esparza Delgadillo said in the video message. "In the last few months there were a lot of remarks about our country that were so against my ideals and those of all the people who struggle every day looking for a better life."
The 2015 Miss Universe pageant, which will air live on Dec. 20 from the Axis Theater of the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, has also found a new home network.
In an official announcement on Wednesday, the Miss Universe organization revealed that FOX would be broadcasting the pageant.
"Miss Universe is a unique, global media property and this partnership with FOX marks a new era for The Miss Universe Organization as a whole," said Michael Antinoro, SVP of Original Content, IMG. "As the broadcast leader in innovative and groundbreaking live events, FOX is the perfect partner as we look to implement new and exciting changes to this show and the franchise."
