Guardians of the Galaxy Movie Cast, Characters Spoilers and News Update: Will Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to Be Featured in Film?
The latest sneak peek photos reveal that it is possible for "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." to play a major part in Marvel's upcoming American superhero film, "Guardians of the Galaxy."
The new spy photos, which were supposedly taken on the set of ongoing additional filming for "GOTG," are of military vehicles that have the "S.H.I.E.L.D." logo on them. In other words, the film could possibly be linked to Marvel's another highly anticipated movie, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," which is coming out on April 4.
It is also predicted that director James Gunn could be currently filming the stinger or post-credit scenes, which could include S.H.I.E.L.D. and head into Marvel's Phase Three. This is not the first time a Marvel movie's stinger was shot months after principle shooting finalized, like the shawarma scene from "The Avengers."
The shooting involved Chris Pratt, who plays the role of Star-Lord, and Dave Baustista, who is responsible for playing Drax the Destroyer. Meanwhile, Gunn tweeted: "Anything you want you didn't get? Go for it. Something to make the movie better? Do it. Cool cameo idea? Bring 'em in."
The recent photos perhaps hint at the fate of espionage and law-enforcement agency S.H.I.E.L.D. in the events of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." The film's trailers have already spoiled that Nick Fury, played by Samuel L. Jackson, is killed at some point, and if that actually happens, it connects well with the other rumors claiming the agency is broken up or compromised. The recent photos also suggest that the reports of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s death perhaps have been exaggerated.
In addition, the post-credits scene seems to take place on Earth since Star-Lord, also known as Peter Quill, is originally from Earth.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" is scheduled to hit theaters on August 1, 2014.
