This holiday season, some of the best technology gifts are from Apple, Samsung and Bose.

Electronics retailer Best Buy searched for the top 15 tech gifts and trends with the help of a national survey, according to Business Wire. The most popular item on the list was the Apple iPad.

Best Buy found in the survey that millennials, those who are between the ages of 18-34, want tech items as their preferred gifts and they also prefer giving tech items as gifts.

Besides the iPad, Best Buy found two other Apple items that are in most demand for tech gifts this year. The MacBook (No. 3) and the Apple Watch (No. 12) both made the list.

Wearables have been a trending item and these items are making tech wish lists as well. Fitness trackers like the Fitbit Charge HR Heart Rate and Activity Tracker (No. 8) help consumers keep track of their steps taken per day, calories burned and many other metrics. A wearable designed to record action-packed sports and be extremely durable is the GoPro Hero4 Action Camera (No. 15). These cameras are extremely durable and can be worn on top of helmets to record high speed sports like moto-cross or even skydiving.

Technology for TVs keeps getting better. 4K resolution TVs like the Samsung 48" Smart 4K Ultra HD TV (No. 4) or the Sharp 43" Smart HDTV with Roku (No. 5) are in high demand this holiday season. These TVs also offer additional apps and extra features right from the screen.

Men prefer to give tech items and they prefer to receive them as gifts. Men (27.9 percent) want to receive tech gifts three times more than women (9.7 percent). In the survey, it was found that men consider electronics "more personal" than non-tech gifts. Women consider tech gifts to be more "useful."

Best Buy is offering free shipping on all web orders (no minimum purchase) from now until Jan. 2, 2016. Deals like free shipping and promotions often lead to self-gifting. Self-gifters are most interested in giving themselves an iPad (19 percent) or the Sharp 43" Smart HDTV with Roku (15 percent).
