It's the end of an era as One Direction marked down the last stop of their last tour before their hiatus, but the boys promised their fans that they'll be back together on the other side. In the last show of their world tour in Sheffield, U.K., the boys' goodbye was very emotional for the fans.

According to a report from Hollywood Life, the four band members took some time after the last "On The Road Again" tour to huddle together and share a moment before their much-publicized hiatus.

"After the show in Sheffield, the guys were buzzing, but there was also a sense of accomplishment," an insider told Hollywood Life. "They've come such a long way since they were young boys looking to get ahead on 'X Factor', and the sudden realization that they will be taking a long break from it really hit home. There were some tears shed, the guys hugged each other and wished each other well as they go on their own paths for now. There was no animosity between them on the final night."

It's not surprising that the boys, who have called each other "brothers" on some occasions, were a bit emotional as they take their well-deserved breaks. They've been together since 2010 and have earned their biggest successes as part of One Direction.

A report from the Independent highlighted the emotional nature of One Direction's last show as Harry Styles told the crowd, "Please don't forget us. We will always be here for you, you guys are the most incredible fans."

Despite the goodbyes, the boys once again stated to their fans that the band's split will not be permanent.

"This is the end of the 'On The Road Again Tour,' not the end of One Direction," Liam Payne told the crowd, even while fighting back tears.

Bandmate Louis Tomlinson chided playfully, "Don't cry, Liam. Save some for the other tours."

"I can tell you this, we will be back," Niall Horan promised, a comfort to the fans who flocked to the arena to see the famous band's last show for now. "I've had a great time, boys. I love you very much and thank you."

Although there have been rumors of conflict within the group, the members are quick to shut down these talks.

"Don't believe anything you are reading," Horan wrote on his Twitter account. "We stand strong as a band and we're brothers, can't wait for you to hear what we've been working on."
