The first full-length trailer for the new action-horror series on AMC, "Preacher," was finally released on Sunday.

Just like another of the network's hit series "The Walking Dead," this horror series was adapted from a comic book, with plenty of hype to go along with it.

According to Deadline, the trailer made its national debut over the weekend during a new episode of "TWD," leaving fans excited to see what comes next for the highly anticipated show.

The series hails from an unlikely duo, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, who are most famous for their raunchy and unfiltered comedies like "This is The End." But the two have taken a special interest in the show and developed the series for the cable network giant. Rogen is not expected to appear in the series at this time, but he may be featured in a cameo at some point.

The show was adapted from the 1990s comic by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon. The story follows Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), a conflicted preacher in a small Texas town who has trouble finding his way back to God. As the trailer depicts, Custer's past is tainted with violence, leaving the preacher torn between faith and bloody justice.

Custer is accompanied in the show by an ex-girlfriend named Tulip (Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun). Both are featured in the trailer, but only in minor appearances. As a trio, they start on a journey to find the living incarnation of God.

Also featured in the series as supporting cast members are Ian Colletti as Eugene Root aka Arseface, W. Earl Brown as Hugo Root, and Lucy Griffiths as Emily.

Although a definitive premiere date has not yet been announced, AMC has committed to debuting the series sometime mid-year 2016.
