The Denver Broncos are currently one of four teams in the NFL that has not suffered a loss, along with the New England Patriots, Cincinnati Bengals and Carolina Panthers. The Broncos just got stronger as they have acquired two-time Pro-Bowl tight end, Vernon Davis from the San Francisco 49ers, per Yahoo! Sports.

ESPN's Adam Schefter detailed the trade on Twitter with San Francisco sending Davis and a 2016 seventh-round pick to Denver for a sixth-round pick in 2016 and 2017. The Broncos will reportedly pay Davis the remainder of his $4.35 million salary for the season and about $25,000 worth of roster bonuses.

Denver's general manager and Pro Football Hall of Famer John Elway confirmed the deal on Twitter, saying that the 31-year-old TE is a great addition to the Broncos that brings experience and leadership to the squad. 49ers general manager Trent Baalke released a statement regarding the trade of Davis.

"On behalf of the entire 49ers organization, I would like to thank Vernon for his decade of contributions to this team and our community. Not only has he contributed to some of the most memorable moments in franchise history, but he has also positively impacted the lives of many others through his efforts in the community. We wish Vernon and his family continued success in both football and life," Baalke said via Yahoo! Sports.

Davis took to Twitter to thank the whole San Francisco organization and the 49ers fans for almost a decade of playing in the Bay Area.

The Washington, D.C.-native was drafted in the sixth round of the 2006 NFL Draft out of the University of Maryland. He's the 49ers franchise leader in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns by a tight end. He has career numbers of 441 catches for 5,640 yards with 55 touchdowns for the 49ers, per Pro-Football-Reference.com.

Davis also has 27 catches for 600 yards and seven touchdowns in eight playoff appearances. His seven touchdowns in the playoffs are good for first place among tight ends in NFL history. He had his best seasons in 2009 and 2013 when he was selected into the Pro Bowl.
