'Star Wars Battlefront' Gameplay: DLC Packs To Bring New Universes, New Weapons & New Player Actions
“Star Wars Battlefront” is already dominating ahead of its release date, and the team is looking forward to going all out next year with exciting new content for players, who are already hooked into the hotly anticipated shooter game.
EA Games has been pretty hush-hush on the "Star Wars Battlefront" DLC. Now, EA COO Peter Moore divulged some details on the upcoming content during an earnings presentation via GameSpot.
"What we've announced is four extra packs over the next 12-18 months coming post launch," he explained. "You'll see new universes, you're gonna see new player actions, obviously new weaponry as well."
According to the report from GameSpot, the upcoming DLC pass will cost $50.
In a community update on the official website last month, EA revealed some details about the DLC in the works, adding that more details on the exciting features will be released in the coming weeks.
"We're also excited to announce the 'Star Wars Battlefront' Season Pass, which extends the game with four expansion packs coming at a later date, filled with new content that will take you to new locations across a galaxy far, far away," EA wrote on the update. "'Star Wars Battlefront' Season Pass owners will also secure two-week early access to each expansion pack and an exclusive 'Shoot First' emote."
The pass for all platforms is currently available for pre-order at the "Star Wars Battlefront" website.
As previously reported by Latin Post, the "Star Wars Battlefront" is expecting a massive release with a projection of 13 million units in shipment by the end of the fiscal year.
EA CEO Andrew Wilson discussed the success of the upcoming shooter game during the earnings report, according to a separate report from GameSpot. The executive said that bringing in a variety of players was the key.
"Anecdotally, what we have seen is that 'Star Wars Battlefront' is bringing in two groups that are very important groups to us," he explained. "One are gamers that have lapsed, traditionally who have been big gamers in the past and maybe haven't played for a while, and [Battlefront's beta has] certainly been a catalyst for those people to come back into the gaming universe as it relates to console. And two, onboarding a new younger age demographic."
He added, "And remember that this is a title, a shooter title, that will be more appropriate for younger players than maybe some other shooter titles in the market."
"Star Wars Battlefront" for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC will be released on Nov. 17.
