Trevor Noah is now in recovery after undergoing what appears to be an emergency operation this morning.

"The Daily Show" announced today via Twitter the comedian has underwent an emergency appendectomy, a procedure for when a person's appendix is abnormally large or at the point of rupture.

"We wish ‪@TrevorNoah a speedy recovery from his time in an American hospital," the tweet read.

The condition can present itself in a sudden manner, and if not treated right away, the condition can be fatal. Fortunately for Noah, his doctors were able to catch it in time and removed the appendix before it ruptured, which essentially saved his life.

The tweet announced the South African comedian and new host of "The Daily Show" is currently in recovery, and the procedure went down with any complications.

Recovery times can vary, but if a person's workload is not physically demanding, that person can return to work quickly.

In Noah's case, his workload will enable him to return for a new episode as early as tomorrow. But something that might prove painful for the host is strenuous laughing, which can cause his wound to be jarred.

Either way, the tweet did announce that tonight's episode of "The Daily Show" will be an encore presentation of last night's episode. It also announced the show's producers expect for Noah to be back on the air tomorrow night, with new original content.

There isn't much information at this point, but all signs point toward a full recovery for Noah -- and relief for him and his fans.
