Windows 10 Smartphones: Microsoft Lumia 950, 950 XL Pre-Order Starts in Ireland
Microsoft's Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are ready to take Ireland on a pre-order basis, reports GSM Arena.
The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL became one of the most anticipated flagship phones because they feature the newly released Windows 10 update.
Ireland is not the first region where these devices were released as other European countries already experienced them. Despite receiving price cuts in selected countries in Europe, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are slated to have a price tag of €599 and €699 in Ireland, respectively. If you live in this region, expect shipments to start on Nov. 27.
TechTimes recently reported that Microsoft's Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL received significant price cuts in the U.K. even before they were made available for pre-ordering, and, now, the Lumia series is also expected to foresee the same price cut when it releases in France.
Apparently, the original price of €599 for the Lumia 950 will now cost around €562 while the Lumia 950 XL, which was originally announced with a price tag of €699, can now be availed at only €649 per unit. The European countries received different price schedules for the Lumia series, but France so far has received the lowest yet.
Italy can expect a starting delivery date as early as Nov. 27 while those in the U.K. may have to wait a bit longer when Microsoft starts to ship around Dec. 3. Currently, the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are Microsoft's most ambitious projects yet in their line of flagship mobile phones, so fans can expect something different to the table this time around. With the Windows 10 OS being integrated with the phones, some more advanced features and interesting functions can be expected of the new devices.
The Lumia 950 is the smaller of the two series and it is equipped with a 5.2-inch screen display, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Under the hood, it is powered by a Qualcomm's MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 chipset with an internal memory of 32GB and 3GB of RAM.
A 20-megapixel primary camera sports the back of the phone while a five-megapixel secondary camera is provided for crisp selfies. Powered by a 3,000 mAH Li-Ion battery, it has a standby time of 288 hours (2G) and comes in color variations of black and white.
Similarly, the Lumia 950 XL has the same camera features and specs along with 3GB of RAM. The Lumia 950 XL, however, has a bigger screen display at 5.7 inches display and a battery power of 3,300 mAH.
