Dallas Mavericks basketball player J.J. Barea says hello to a Texas home.

Barea is ready to stay in Dallas again for several years and buys a $1.6 million home in the area, Realtor.com reported. The Puerto Rico-born NBA athlete was represented by Briggs Freeman Sotheby's International Realty in the deal while listing agent Stevie Chaddick of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage - Dallas brokered it for the seller.

Its listing on Realtor.com described the property as a newly built construction in the Melshire Estatesby by a company named LM2Group. It is also said to possess "one of the most functional floor plans around."

The 5,543-square-foot house features five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms.

Interior details include expansive living spaces, an open floor plan, hardwood flooring, sleek and smooth finishing and vaulted ceilings.

Outdoors, there is a spacious backyard, relaxing loggia and 52-inch Viking grill. These amenities are perfect for a barbecue party. The 31-year-old basketball player can easily invite his teammates over for a simple hang out time to relax after a game. Barea may also have the option to turn part of the less than half an acre of Dallas lot into a space for a swimming pool.

The home also offered some appliances like a built-in microwave, a built-in refrigerator, a freezer, a commercial grade range, a commercial grade vent, a convection oven, a cook top, a dishwasher, a disposable, a double oven, a dishwasher and an electric oven. Thus, Barea may have a more convenient kitchen set-up when he acquired the abode.

Going back to Dallas

Barea entered the NBA via the Mavericks in August 2006, despite he was left undrafted that year, Mavs.com noted. The Northeastern University alumnus stayed with the Mavericks for five seasons and then transferred to the Minnesota Timberwolves, per ESPN stats. He stayed in Minnesota for three seasons and went back this July to his first team.

Barea excitedly announced his comeback to Dallas via a Twitter post.

The point guard has inked a four-year, $16 million deal with the Mavericks, ESPN reported. Barea was supposed to sign only a two-year, $5.7 million deal but after a renegotiation, it was turned to a longer stay. Los Angeles Clippers' star player DeAndre Jordan withdrawal from joining the Mavs reportedly played a part in this outcome.

"They knew I wanted to be there for a long time. They wanted me there for a long time, so we made it happen," Barea said.

Will it be sweeter this time with Barea and the Mavs?
