Xbox One Backwards Compatibility: Over 100 Games From Xbox 360 to Be Playable on Xbox One
Starting Thursday Xbox One players will be able to play over 100 Xbox 360 games on their console. With backwards compatibility, Xbox One will bring back some classic games from the Xbox 360 and allow players to enjoy them on their new consoles.
Microsoft released the entire list of Xbox 360 games that would be playable on the Xbox One on Monday, Tech Radar reports. Classic games like Assassin's Creed 2 and the original Mass Effect will be available for play on the Xbox One.
Microsoft will release an update for the Xbox One consoles on Thursday and part of the update includes backwards compatibility. With the update, the Xbox One will start getting some Windows 10 features including "Universal" apps and Cortana support.
Backwards compatibility will give Xbox One players a full-featured gaming experience for Xbox 360 games. It will be just like playing the game on the Xbox 360 and no options or modes will be stripped from the games. Players will be able to use the Xbox One sharing feature in order to live stream their gaming on services like Twitch.
Players should ensure their consoles are connected to the Internet Thursday to receive the update.
