HTC One A9: At Least 1 HTC One A9 Variant to Come, Slight Improvements Made
HTC just introduced their One A9 smartphone, but another variant of the device is already on its way. The One A9w is coming from HTC, and it will be slightly better than the One A9.
HTC is working on improving the One A9 smartphone, and the company will introduce at least one variant of the phone, Tech Radar reports.
The HTC One A9w looks to be an exact replica of the One A9, with the same looks and specifications. The One A9w will use the same 5.0-inch AMOLED full-HD display as the One A9. It will also have a 13 megapixel (MP) camera on the back of the phone and a 4 MP camera on the front. The chip inside the phone is not yet named but according to the filing with the Chinese telecommunications regulator TENAA, it has the same 1.5 GHz speed as the Snapdragon 617 used in the One A9.
The only difference that can be seen in the HTC One A9w is the amount of microSD cards it can support. The HTC One A9 is expandable up to 2 TB of storage with microSD cards, while the One A9w can only be expanded to 128 GB.
There are two versions of the One A9, one with 16 GB of storage and 2 GB of RAM and the other with 32 GB of storage and 3 GB of RAM. The One A9w will only be available in the 16 GB of storage and 2 GB of RAM version.
It is possible that the One A9w is just the name of the HTC One A9 that will be available in China. It is also possible that the "w" stands for Windows, meaning it would using the Windows Mobile operating system instead of Android.
PocketNow is reporting an additional HTC One A9 variant that could be called the HTC One X9. The One X9 would have a 2K screen, a Snapdragon 820 processor and a 23 MP camera. The battery would be improved to 3,500 mAh and storage would be increased to 128 GB.
The HTC One X9 would be the high-end One device from HTC while the A9 series would be considered mid-range.
