WWE Highlights: Manchester United Star Wayne Rooney Slaps King Barrett on Monday Night Raw in England
This week's WWE Monday Night Raw was held at Manchester, England and the 16-man tournament to crown the new WWE World Heavyweight champion started. Sheamus went up against Cesaro with Manchester United star forward Wayne Rooney in the stands getting involved by slapping King Barrett, who was accompanying "The Celtic Warrior," per WWE.com.
The official WWE Twitter account posted a video of the slap and you can watch it below. The incident is enough to distract Sheamus as he lost to Cesaro, who advances to the quarterfinal of the WWE championship tournament and will face Roman Reigns next week.

There is history between these two Englishman as they were in a little exchange of tweets after a controversial play involving Rooney in an FA Cup victory back in February. The Manchester United striker won a penalty in the 88th minute that ensured a 3-1 win over Preston North End FC, per Bleacher Report.
Barrett, who is a PNEFC fan, accused Rooney of diving, and the star forward did not appreciate the claim. He even involved WWE Legend and Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin on the Twitter war, with Barrett countering by getting the support of retired footballer Kevin Davies.
How about that @WayneRooney dive vs @PNEFC? He won't need to dive when I catch up with him.. #BullHammer #BNB — Stu Bennett (@WadeBarrett) February 17, 2015

Rooney is not the first English athlete to get involved with the WWE as boxing legend Ricky Hatton hosted an episode of Raw back in November 2009 and fought Chavo Guerrero in a boxer-versus-wrestler match.
