The Indianapolis Colts have announced that starting quarterback Andrew Luck suffered abdominal injuries during the team's win over Denver Broncos, per Colts.com. Luck underwent several tests and it was revealed that he has laceration in one of his kidneys and a partial tear of an abdominal muscle.

"The injuries happened at the end of an early fourth quarter scramble when Andrew was doing everything he could to get us the win. Andrew was sore after the game and was feeling a little worse Monday afternoon so we sent him to get tests," head coach Chuck Pagano said.

The tests also revealed that the injuries won't require any kind of surgery and Luck can make a full recovery in two to six weeks. Backup quarterback Matt Hasselback is expected to start in the absence of the 26-year-old.

Earlier in the month, Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reported that Luck was battling from multiple broken ribs while also recovering from his injured shoulder. He suffered a partially separated right shoulder or a subluxation against the Tennessee Titans on week three and undergone an MRI to reveal the severity of the injury, per Indy Sports Central.

In a report by Indy Star, the NFL will be investigating if the Colts violated 2015 injury report policy by not disclosing an injury to their quarterback. The league has fined teams like the New York Jets in 2009, and the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, and Washington Redskins in 2012 for failing to report injuries.

"Our injury reports are accurate. If people have any questions about player injuries, they should refer to our injury reports," Colts general manager Ryan Grigson said in a statement, denying the report by Glazer.

According to Bleacher Report, Indianapolis entered the season as Super Bowl contenders, but has faltered to a 4-5 record. However, the Colts are still in first place due to a weak AFC South division and backup quarterback Hasselbeck is 2-0 as a starter back when Luck was out due to an injured shoulder.

Indianapolis is entering week 10 with a bye before playing against the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the final two weeks of November. Bleacher Report noted that both games are winnable with the veteran quarterback as a starter.

The Colts will be facing the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Houston Texans, Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans to end the regular season, per ESPN.
