‘Transparent’ Debuts New Trailer for Season 2 [Watch]
Amazon's smash hit transgender series "Transparent" has released a new trailer and even added a few big names to the guest star list for Season 2, which is about to premiere on the streaming network.
According to Deadline, the series will kick off it's second season with a wedding between Sarah (Amy Landecker) and Tammy (Melora Hardin), who will have several challenges ahead of them for their life together.
The trailer is not much more than a teaser for the season, briefly illustrating the comic difficulty the family has organizing a wedding photo. As the family pulls together for the picture, the photographer makes the mistake of calling Maura (Jeffrey Tambor) "sir," causing her to exit the scene offended.
The full season will feature plenty of comedy of its own, as it tackles real-life issues with a bit of a lighter touch. The show explores the naïve views of society on transgender issues, and how these issues affect the Pfefferman family.
Another big highlight for the season is the addition of some big Hollywood names set to guest star on the show's second season, including Anjelica Huston ("The Addams Family," "Medium") and Cherry Jones ("24").
They will join the entire returning cast of Pfeffermans, which includes Tambor as Maura, Judith Light as Shelly, Landecker as Sarah, Jay Duplass as Josh, and Gaby Hoffmann as Ali.
The show received a lot of praise from audiences and industry professionals alike. It made the rounds on the awards circuit, and audiences gave it the boost it needed to make it out of Amazon's annual pilot season.
Watch the trailer for the second season below, which premieres on Amazon on Dec. 11.
