WWE Rumors: Finn Balor Main Roster Debut, NXT Injury Updates, Tyler Breeze & More
WWE NXT is the developmental branch based in Winter Park, Fla., where future WWE superstars train and hone their in-ring and microphone skills. Today's rumors include the possible main roster debut of NXT Champion Finn Balor, updates on the return of Hideo Itami and Sami Zayn, backstage news on Tyler Breeze and a lot more.
Finn Balor Main Roster Debut
It has been over a year since NXT Champion Finn Balor made his debut, and according to 24Wrestling, he is scheduled to be on several Raw and SmackDown tapings after the Survivor Series pay-per-view. There is word going around backstage that if he is not used on television, Balor will be doing dark matches only to build chemistry with the main roster talents.
In a report by Ring Side News, during an NXT panel in London, it was teased that he might show up at Survivor Series to help The Undertaker and Kane battle The Wyatt Family. However, it was announced during the SmackDown tapings that The Brothers of Destruction will face two members of The Wyatts in a tag team match, per Wrestle Zone.
Injury Updates on Hideo Itami and Sami Zayn
Hideo Itami and Sami Zayn both went down with shoulder injuries and was written out of television at the same event, NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable. The two superstars had shoulder surgery with Itami out for six to eight months while Zayn is slated to miss three to six months.
PW Insider via 411 Mania reports that Hideo is still not training and his rehabilitation seems to be slower than Zayn. According to a separate PW Insider report via Wrestling Inc, Sami has started doing some light training at the Performance Center but has not started any in-ring exercise.
Tyler Breeze Backstage News
"Prince Pretty" has not been on the main roster for a whole month, but WWE already views him as a mid-card talent and not a main event level star in the future, per Cageside Seats. There is a growing belief backstage that his character can only win him an Intercontinental or U.S. title.
Fansided speculated that this is because of the problem of WWE executives Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn overlooking talents. It is noted that WWE has the inability to create new stars that is one of the main cause of the ratings declining.
James Storm's WWE Contract
"Cowboy" James Storm made his much-anticipated debut on WWE NXT last month, but, apparently, he still has no contract with the company. According to The Wrestling News Observer via Wrestle Zone, Storm is still in negotiations with the WWE about a return in NXT and has not signed any contract yet.
