WrestleMania 32 Rumors: Batista To Appear in WWE's Biggest PPV Event Next Year?
In an interview with Chris Van Vliet of WSVN-TV in Miami, Dave Bautista, more known as Batista to wrestling fans, revealed that he wants to return to WWE again, but his main priority is acting. According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling News Observer via Inquisitr, WWE is hoping to bring Batista back for a match at WrestleMania 32.
The six-time WWE world champion left WWE in 2010, with his main objective of becoming an actor in Hollywood and has found a lot of success starring in Marvel's "The Guardians of the Galaxy" in 2014 and portraying a villain of James Bond in "Spectre." Meltzer noted that the company even congratulated their former star to convince him to wrestle at the biggest wrestling event of 2016 in Dallas.
The belief backstage is that they are seeking his help because of all the injuries to their main stars and their lack of roster depth in the main event scene. WWE has Daniel Bryan, Randy Orton and Seth Rollins out with injuries and may very well miss WrestleMania 32.
"I don't know if Batista's schedule is going to allow him to work WrestleMania because Guardians of the Galaxy 2 starts filming in mid-January, and he's in that movie, and he may have other things lined up after that," Meltzer said.
"Batista and WWE have probably had some communication. But the movie people don't exactly like WWE using these guys because of The Rock thing with Hercules when he got hurt, and they had to push the movie back several weeks," he added.
Last week, WWE.com posted an exclusive interview with Batista talking about his new movie with Daniel Craig and his future with the WWE. It is a way to promote his movie and a negotiating tactic to get him to make an appearance next year.
"What I really thought was so interesting is the way that Chris Jericho went back and did Live Events. Live Events are fun, man. I'm passionate about it. I'm proud to be a pro wrestler because I love it," Batista said.
The 46-year-old also told Chris Van Vliet that if he indeed returns to WWE, it would be just like Jericho's deal, wherein he only makes appearances at live events. Batista mentioned that he likes just wrestling without butting heads with the creative team like he did when he returned last year. He prefers just performing in front of the fans and putting a great wrestling match without restrictions.
