Canadian pop singer Shawn Mendes, a teen superstar in his own right, named his top 5 Favorite Teen Music stars of all time.

According to Billboard, the pop singer revealed his list of top 5 Favorite Teen music stars on the afternoon of his last day on Taylor Swift's super successful 1989 World Tour.

Mendes' list includes a legendary musician, current pop icons, a boy band and a brand new and rising artist.

"I'm going to start off with No. 1, Taylor Swift. She's the best person ever. I'm pretty sure she's probably the epitome of what a music star can be -- and also it's really cool being on tour with her," said the Mendes.

While he said that his first three choices were easy, which included Swift, Justin Timberlake, who he called "the man" and explained that he looks up to him, and newcomer Alessia Cara, who he said he is proud of her, Mendes struggled to pick his last two.

Eventually, the 18-year-old settled on legendary superstar Elvis Presley, even though he wasn't sure of what age Presley was when he became a superstar, regardless Mendes decided to put him down.

For his last choice Mendes chose a boy band, but instead of going with One Direction or 5 Seconds of Summer, Mendes chose The Jonas Brothers.

"I love them. Definitely. I love those guys. I'm close with Nick, actually," Mendes said about the group that released 4 albums, sold millions of records world wide and helped launch the solo careers of both Nick and Joe Jonas.

Mendes has seen a lot of success in his short but rapidly growing career. Besides touring with Swift, the singer has a single on the top Billboard Pop song charts, has won a Teen Choice Award, Much Music Award, Streamy Award, MTV Europe Music Awards and is nominated for a 2015 People's Choice Award.

According to Now Toronto, Mendes received the Allan Slaight Honour at Canada's Walk of Fame ceremony on Nov. 7 in Toronto. The award recognizes young Canadian musicians who have achieved international success.

Other winners of the award include Drake, The Weeknd and Carly Rae Jepsen.
