"The Late Show" host Stephen Colbert may have his work cut out for him now that "Ash vs Evil Dead" star Bruce Campbell has proven he has the skills necessary to replace him. On Tuesday, Campbell joined co-star Lucy Lawless on "The Late Show," and things got a little interesting, to say the least.

According to Indiewire, Colbert got more than he bargained for when Campbell and Lawless showed up on his show. It was actually Lawless who poked and prodded at Campbell to put on his glasses.

"Why would I put them on, Lucy?" Campbell asked her after her insistence.

Apparently, at the time, it was an inside joke between the two. But when it became apparent as to what Lawless was trying to say, she disclosed when Campbell has his glasses on, he looks just like Colbert.

Colbert got interested in Lawless's assertion and went along with their gag, which in turn led to them switching seats, and Campbell put the glasses on and assumed his seat behind the host desk.

Of course, he did have a distinct resemblance to Colbert, so the horror-comedy actor got himself into character and pulled off his Colbert impersonation.

He started off with a few of Colbert's known mannerisms, which included poking his pen around the desk and taking a few moments to segue into his comical dialogue. But Campbell dragged it out a little longer, with much applause from the audience.

"Wait!" Campbell said, trying to hush the audience. "I've got a line of dialogue I need to say."

But his line of dialogue only came up with one word that was quite funny.

"Nation!" Campbell said pointing his pen directly at the camera.

And that was it but still quite funny -- a spot-on impersonation of Colbert with very few words.
