Former WWE World Heavyweight champion Daniel Bryan has been out due to concussion-related symptoms since May, per Pro-Wrestling.net. The WWE main event scene has been depleted because of injuries, and according to reports, it is rumored that the decision about Bryan wrestling again is in Vince McMahon's hands.

In the latest issue of the The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer via Wrestle Zone reports that McMahon is reportedly going "back-and-forth" on the decision whether Daniel Bryan is making his in-ring return after a bunch of career-threatening injuries in the past two years. The 34-year-old wrestler said in an interview with IGN the he was scheduled to undergo tests for a third doctor to determine his future.

What Culture noted that WWE's Medical Director, Dr. Joseph Maroon, told officials that Bryan should never wrestle again because of the number of concussions he has suffered in the past. The Aberdeen, Washington native got a second opinion from a doctor for the NFL's Arizona Cardinals, who said that his brain is better than most people of his age.

The WWE started a strict concussion policy after years of ignoring head injuries, per WWE.com. It basically started after the unfortunate Chris Benoit double-murder suicide incident in 2007, where Benoit's brain was discovered to be worst than of an 85-year-old Alzheimer's patient after undetected concussions over the years, as per ABC News.

Meltzer added that the WWE possibly has the results of the third test and are keeping them as a secret for now with its TV ratings historically low. Vince McMahon will need to make a final judgment on Daniel Bryan's in-ring return with John Cena taking time off until the end of the year, Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker working on a limited schedule and Randy Orton and Seth Rollins out injuries.

According to Bleacher Report, the WWE badly needs the leader of the "YES Movement" to fill in for all the missing main event talents. He is one of the most popular WWE superstars of this era and his return will equal ratings for both Raw and SmackDown.

The report added that Bryan does not need a world title to be cheered by fans because of his underdog character. The WWE just need a good story involving him against all odds and have the audience behind his back until he becomes triumphant.

The report also notes that the former WWE world champion can also put over other superstars like Dean Ambrose, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Roman Reigns, and Sami Zayn, among others, to help WWE create its next big superstar.
