After her split from John Mayer earlier this month, it has been reported that Katy Perry has already moved on from her on-and-off boyfriend to someone new -- the "Dark Horse" hitmaker and Robert Pattinson are now said to be enjoying being "friends with benefits."

Although the pair might have always insisted they are nothing but friends, the recent reports claim that they are more than that. "Rob and Katy have never stopped being in touch -- she loves the attention, but also thinks he's really sexy and funny," an insider said.

"The texting stepped up in January when things started going bad between Katy and John," the source continued. "Rob's been a real shoulder for her to cry on. Since he's been single, though, the texts have hotted up -- she loves drunk texting him and they're always flirty."

"They've always kept their hook-ups discreet," the source added. "They're just friends -- with benefits -- at the moment."

In addition, Pattinson has been single since his romance with Kristen Stewart ended last May. He and the "Unconditionally" singer reportedly have been there for each other through numerous breakups. However, Perry previously revealed why a romance between her and the Twilight actor is quite unlikely.

"Okay, so here's the proof there was never anything going on with me and Robert Pattinson," she said. "I fart in front of him. Properly fart. And I never, ever fart in front of a man I am dating. That's a rule."
