Fantasy Football 2015 Rankings, Sleepers & Week 11 Waiver Wire: Top 5 NFL Players to Pick Up This Week
The waiver wire is absolutely critical for Fantasy Football owners everywhere. Staying on top of free agency can make or break your team every week. Disappointing play and injuries often lead to Fantasy Football owners checking their waiver wire to help aid their roster week in and week out.
Here are five players you should consider singing off the waiver wire this week.
1. Danny Amendola
This is an obvious one because of the injury to Julian Edelman. Edelman was Tom Brady's "go-to guy" for short yardage, but he has a broken bone in his foot. Most likely Edelman will miss the remainder of the regular season, so it's up to one Danny Amendola to fill that void. Amendola has done a good job in this system. He has the third most receiving yards on the team with 403, and he hasn't fumbled once this season. Amendola won't put up the same statistics as Edelman, but he's going to get a lot more balls thrown his way.
2. Lamar Miller
The Miami Dolphins are a very good football team, but if you're having running back issues, Lamar Miller could be a good addition. Miller has 521 rushing yards and seven touchdowns this season. Miller is also doing a lot of damage in the passing game. He has 33 catches this year from Ryan Fitzpatrick which is already five more than all of last season. The Dolphins will take on the Dallas Cowboys, who have an average defense, next week. Miller should get his fair share of carries at home against the Cowboys.
3. Martavis Bryant
All eyes are on Antonio Brown in Pittsburgh, but Martavis Bryant is playing great. Bryant is actually tied with Brown for the team-lead in touchdown receptions. Ben Roethlisberger appears to have a great connection with the young 24-year-old wide out. Bryant had an outstanding game against the Cleveland Browns in Week 10 with 178 receiving yards. While opposing defenders double team Brown, Bryant provides the deep ball for the Pittsburgh Steelers with his elite speed. Bryant only ranks fourth on the team in receptions, even behind running back Le'Veon Bell, but he's averaging an eye popping 20 yards per catch.
4. Chris Johnson
It's amazing more people haven't picked up Chris Johnson this year on their Fantasy Football team. Johnson is one of the big front-runners to win the Comeback Player of the Year award this season, and rightfully so. The Arizona Cardinals have won three consecutive matches while Johnson has rushed for more than 100 yards in three of his last five games. Johnson has proven to be a great free agent signing by the Cardinals, and he's got a big game against the Cincinnati Bengals next week. Johnson is averaging 4.4 yards per carry this season behind a reliable offensive line. The only issue here is, Johnson doesn't score many touchdowns.
5. Tony Romo
It's a big risk, but this depends on your situation. So many quarterbacks are struggling and hurting this year, such as Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck, so you may need to pick up Tony Romo. Romo is eligible to return in Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins, so that means if you sign him off the waiver wire this week, you may only miss out on one game. Romo is on the short term injured reserve, but you may be wise to get him now before others. With Dez Bryant back on the field, Romo is set to thrive in just a few weeks.
