'The Huntsman: Winter’s War' Cast & Plot: Jessica Chastain, Emily Blunt To Star Alongside Chris Hemsworth in Sequel
"Snow White and the Huntsman" comes back for a preview of its sequel, "The Huntsman: Winter's War," and it featured two new characters joining the squad, Jessica Chastain and Emily Blunt.
According to MTV, the Snow White-less sequel has been booked with appearances from the two lady stars and they were casted to portray as The Warrior and The Ice Queen respectively.
In the new movie posters released by Universal Pictures, Chastain reprises the role of Sara, an equipped huntswoman. Meanwhile, Blunt plays the role of the evil queen's sister, Freya, who takes control of a huntsmen legion when she fled to an icy palace after suffering a heart break.
Chris Hemsworth recurs for the lead role and will continue with his character, Eric. Charlize Theron, who looks as sharp as ever, will do her magnificent role as the evil queen, Queen Ravenna, who ordered Snow White killed in the first movie.
For this follow-up film, Kristen Stewart will not be returning as Snow White -- in fact, there wouldn't be any Snow White -- after her affair with "Snow White and the Huntsman" director, Rupert Sanders, became public, as per Mashable.
As reported by Screen Rant, the movie's story starts off with the sisters, Freya and Queen Ravenna, in a pre-Snow White plot, and they lived together until the Ice Queen got her heart broken by a man. Devastated, she flees from the kingdom and builds an icy empire as she assembled a legion of huntsmen. The deadly pack of warriors includes Eric and Sara, who were reprimanded to follow one rule from the cold-hearted queen: "forever harden your hearts to love."
However, Freya's most beloved warriors defied her rules, as they fell in love, and she banished Eric and Sara into the wilderness.
Fast forward into the Snow White plot, the Ice Queen learns that her sister has been killed and demanded her soldiers to bring the Magic Mirror to a sorceress who has the ability to harness its power. Freya learns that her sister can be resurrected and together, they come back for a deeply dark retaliation by combining their disastrous forces.
As the wicked sisters plan for vengeance together with their seemingly formidable troops, the two huntsmen will reunite and try to conquer the dark forces.
"The Huntsman: Winter's War" trailer is seen to be released anytime soon and it is expected to shed more light regarding the movie's plot. The movie will be slated in theaters on April 22, 2016.
