'The Big Bang Theory' Season 9 Episode 9 Spoilers: Sheldon, Amy Spend Thanksgiving Together in 'The Platonic Permutation' [Watch]
Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) will spend Thanksgiving together in an attempt to become friends, while other members of the geeky gang will volunteer for charity in Thursday's episode of "The Big Bang Theory."
A preview video of the holiday-themed episode, which is titled "The Platonic Permutation," shows Sheldon and Amy talking about the very first Thanksgiving in a video chat.
Meanwhile, the clip reveals that Leonard (Johnny Galecki) will try to cook Thanksgiving dinner, while Raj (Kunal Nayyar), his girlfriend Emily (Laura Spencer), Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) spend the holiday volunteering at a soup kitchen.
According to the synopsis for the upcoming episode, Sheldon and Amy will try to move past their differences by spending time together at an aquarium. The two have not really been getting along very well since their shocking breakup in the Season 8 finale. However, it is not clear whether they will work on getting back together.
"Sheldon and Amy try hanging out as friends when they spend Thanksgiving together at the aquarium. Also, Wolowitz reluctantly agrees to volunteer at the soup kitchen with Bernadette, Raj and Emily, and Penny discovers that Leonard knows more about her than she thought," the synopsis reads, according to CarterMatt.
In addition, fans can look forward to seeing Emmy winner Bob Newhart reprise his role as Arthur Jeffries, aka Professor Proton, in one month, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
Sources say the iconic actor will appear in the midseason finale on Dec. 17 in character as a ghostly Jedi in Sheldon's dreams. The apparition will help Sheldon figure out what he wants and make an important decision.
Season 9, Episode 7, "The Platonic Permutation," will premiere on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
