'Real Housewives of New Jersey,' Teresa Giudice Update: Reality Star, Bravo Try to Revamp Her Image
Teresa Giudice and Bravo network officials are on a mission to win back the fans of the jailed "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star and earn the show the staggering ratings it once attracted.
To that end, All About The Tea is reporting only Giudice and Melissa Gorga have been signed as full time cast members for Season 7. Friends of the show Jacqueline Laurita and Kathy Wakile have both reportedly been instructed to get along with Giudice in a concerted effort to revamp her image.
Word is at least part of Gorga's new storyline will center on her opening her own clothing and accessory boutique called "Envy." Rumors are Bravo helped fund the venture, and Giudice may ultimately seek to satisfy the terms of her probation by working at the shop.
Giudice is slated to be released from the Danbury Correctional facility around Christmas time, after finishing her sentence for bank fraud.
Meanwhile, newcomers Dolores Catania, Siggy Flicker, Robyn Levy and Christina Flores are all also slated to join next year's cast in some capacity, with reports each of them were handpicked by Bravo with Giudice's reputation in mind.
Flicker is a relationship expert, and network execs are hoping she can help Giudice and her family reconnect, once the star is released from her 15 month sentence. Slated to be the first lesbian couple featured on any "Housewives" franchise, Levy and Flores also have ties to the Giudices, with Levy having previously done public relations work for the family.
Bravo officials started to become concerned about their star's ongoing appeal after ratings were painfully low for the "Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa Checks In" spin off.
The premise of that show centered on Joe Giudice trying to hold his family of four daughters together, while his wife was incarcerated. Teresa also made appearances on the show via jailhouse phone calls with family members.
