One Direction Tours, Songs, and News Update 2014: 1D to Hire 100 Bodyguards for Upcoming 'Where We Are' World Tour After Liam Payne's Pants Got Stolen Last Year
One Direction has reportedly enlisted 100 bodyguards for their highly anticipated upcoming Where We Are world tour.
The Midnight Memories hitmakers are certainly taking extra precautions to keep their distance from the crazed teenage Directioners. So what is their ultimate solution? 1D has hired 20 security experts for each band member. Also, it is believed that Niall Horan and Liam Payne are the ones who are particularly concerned for their safety.
"It's mainly Niall and Liam who are starting to get really obsessive about security," a source said. "Liam's fears grew after two fans stole his pants in Australia last year."
"It's an insane amount of security for one band, but considering the way crowds form around them, it's necessary," the source added. "Niall is getting more and more sensitive because of his panic attacks."
As previously mentioned, Payne was left "embarrassed" in last October after a group of girl fans somehow managed to steal a pair of his boxers that had been left out to dry on the balcony of his hotel room in Sydney, Australia.
The 20-year-old singer took to his Twitter account at the time. "Strangest way I've ever been woken up, when ur in bed butt naked and sum1 is trying to force open your balcony this is gunna be a strange day," he tweeted. "So happy I woke up cuz that (expletive) would have been so unfair."
"Hmmm somebody stole my boxers I'm so embarrassed," he added. "So how this happened... I went in the sea in those hotel staff put them outside to dry sum1 climbed on and stole them just to set the scene."
One Direction is scheduled to kick off their "Where We Are" world tour in the U.S. next month.
