‘Scream Queens’ Season 2 News: Stars Suiting up For Summer Camp [WATCH]
There have been many ways that creator Ryan Murphy has tried to churn out themes for his shows, and Season 2 of "Scream Queens" already has a new log in the fire.
In a Q&A panel at Fright Fest in NYC, he made the comment about Season 2 that has some fans excited about what's to come, considering no one knows for sure who is going to make the cut from Season 1 yet.
"I just pitched to Fox the second season. Everybody loves the idea of it, and the conceit is three or four of the cast members [from Season 1] survive," Murphy said during the panel. "In the second season, the survivors go off to a new venue, a horror based venue, and then they have to fight a new killer, a new villain, a new threat."
Murphy, who also co-created FX's hit show "American Horror Story," is used to the changing themes of his horror shows. He does indeed like to feature a new setting and a new threat for each of his seasons so fans of the show can be surprised when they see what goes down. But he fell short of saying what it was for Season 2.
That is where actor Oliver Hudson came in and broke the silence. In an appearance on "Watch What Happens Live," the actor may have just dropped the bombshell spoiler that Murphy was skeptic to let out of the bag.
When discussing what Season 2 could potentially be about, Hudson kind of flirted with the edge of the line.
"I have an idea. It's scary. [But] I'm scared to reveal anything, [as] we don't even know if it's gonna be picked up. But whatever. Think summer camp," Oliver said.
The summer camp theme is not too far off for what Murphy and the show have been featuring thus far on the young franchise. They frequently visit themes that are inherent to '80s style of horror. Movies like "Friday the 13th" and "Sleepaway Camp" are cult classics from that era.
