Jennifer Aniston is rumored to be miffed with ex-husband Brad Pitt and his new bride Angelina Jolie over her suspicions their new movie is all about her.

The International Business Times reports the former friends star is convinced "By the Sea" is about the time she spent with Pitt when the two were man and wife. Written and directed by Jolie, the plot of the movie revolves around a married couple struggling to find their way together. It marks the first time she and her "Moneyball" husband have starred in a film together since the 2005 action drama "Mr. and Mrs. Smith."

"A film executive pal gave Jen [Aniston] a detailed account of 'By the Sea' and drew parallels between her life and Angelina's character," said a source. "Jen feels like Angelina's script took dead aim at her ... it's sparked a war between Brad and Jen."

Eventually, Pitt is rumored to have gotten word back to his ex that the film had "nothing to do with his marriage to her" and instead is representative of a personal story of his wife.

During her crisscross promotion of the film, the 40-year-old Academy Award-winner Jolie told Vogue Magazine she and Pitt have their share of problems, but work hard at trying to see them through in the healthiest way possible.

"Brad and I have our issues but if the characters were even remotely close to our problems, we couldn't have made the film," she said.

She later added, "This is the only film I've done that is completely based on my own crazy mind. As artistes we wanted something that took us out of our comfort zones. Just being raw actors. It's not the safest idea. But life is short."

"By the Sea" opened in limited theatres earlier this month.
