Arsenal vs Dinamo Zagreb Champions League 2015-16: Preview, Predictions, Stream, Lineups, Schedule
It is do or die time for Arsenal in the Champions League, when the English club takes on Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday.
The current fourth-place team in the English Premier League is actually fourth out of four in its Champions League group entering match day five on Tuesday. With only one win against Bayern Munich, the team really has few options left but to win this week and pray for some luck.
Munich and Olympiakos each have nine points in the group, and a draw between the two sides would eliminate Arsenal from moving on to the quarterfinals. The teams play each other on Tuesday with full knowledge of this fact, and it is likely that neither team will look to risk much in this game.
Meanwhile, Arsenal needs to hope for a win in that game, preferably a win by Bayern Munich. With 12 points, Munich would hold the lead in the group and would just have to take down Dinamo Zagreb to clinch first place. For Arsenal, a win over Zagreb, combined with an Olympiakos defeat, would give the team the only real chance of moving on to the round of 16 in the final game of the group stage.
Yet, there are still hurdles to overcome there.
Arsenal would be facing Olympiakos on the road and needs to overcome a four-point deficit to the Greek side. Of course, an Arsenal win by one goal over Zagreb, combined with a one-goal win for Bayern over the Greek team, would put Arsenal at only a two-point deficit. At that point a two-goal win would put Arsenal through, thanks to differential on head-to-head (Olympiacos won 3-2 in London).
Zagreb is also sitting at the bottom of the group with just three points. The team would love to sink Arsenal and grab the Europa League spot in this group.
Prediction: Arsenal wins on its home pitch by the score of 3-0.
