Amazon's streaming videos and music will now be available on most JetBlue planes equipped with "Fly-Fi." This means that travelers will be able to watch movies, TV shows and listen to over a million songs.

Amazon announced Tuesday that most JetBlue planes that have Fly-Fi will also be equipped with streaming video and music, Tech Crunch reports.

Fly-Fi is JetBlue's free, high-speed broadband Internet service offered to customers flying the airline. Amazon's partnership with JetBlue is the first time the company has teamed up with an airline to provide in-flight entertainment.

By offering streaming content, Amazon can lure in new customers to sign up for Prime memberships. Non-Prime members will be able to rent and buy videos from the Amazon Instant Video store, purchase songs from the Amazon Music store, buy books from the Kindle store and even purchase apps and games from the Amazon Appstore.

Some passengers may have not experienced all of Amazon's extra services like video and music. If they end up liking what they see, they might become Prime members.

JetBlue is able to differentiate from other airlines that do not offer free WiFi on their flights. These customers will be able to enjoy as much content as they want without having to download any extra apps. Amazon's services are built into the JetBlue Fly-Hi Hub.

Amazon and JetBlue are teaming up on this deal and it is likely that Amazon is providing some financial assistance to help pay for the free broadband services offered on JetBlue planes.

JetBlue passengers can also earn extra frequent flyer points by shopping on Amazon while they are aboard JetBlue flights.

All of JetBlue's Airbus 321 and Airbus 320 planes will have the service this year and the Embraer E190 planes will get it in 2016. Amazon expects that most planes that are in service will have streaming videos and music by Thanksgiving.
