Season 3 of the highly successful CW series "The 100" has finally been given a premiere date by the CW network. There are also some major events coming up for the series, which could leave some fans stunned.

According to Deadline, this January is about to be a big month for The CW. In particular, on Jan. 21, 2016. That will be the day that the highly anticipated shows DC's "Legends of Tomorrow" and Season 3 of "The 100" will be making their grand debut on the broadcast network.

Even though "Legends" has a lot of buzz circling it, it is Season 3 of "The 100" that fans have really been waiting a long time now to see. With all that happened last season on the show, fans have been standing by patiently to see where their favorite characters have been left off and what comes next for them.

One thing many have already heard is Alycia Debnam-Carey will be back as Alexa, and she is still in love with Clarke. Although there was some major fallout between the two characters, there is reason to believe they may have mended their fences.

Fans will also finally get to see the Ice Queen, who will be portrayed by Brenda Strong in the role. This is a major character for the series that has only been hinted at in the past.

But what is especially concerning for fans is that there is the imminent death of a major character on the horizon for the show. This news broke over the summer when Aaron Ginsburg took to Twitter and told fans during the production of the season that there is a lot of blood on the set and it belongs to "a character you guys like."

Be sure to tune into the CW on Jan. 21, 2016, and catch the first episode at 9 p.m. EST, which will air right after "Legends."
