"Batman: Arkham Knight" wasn't the most seamless launch this year. The much-awaited third installment in the trilogy failed to live up to expectations as the game was bogged down with a number of performance bugs. A few days ago, Warner Bros. dropped a new patch for PC users in hopes of solving the persistent issues and delivering a few extra features as well.

According to a report from Eurogamer by Richard Leadbetter of Digital Foundry, the DLC didn't make things a whole lot better for the PC version. Performance and streaming issues are among the biggest problems in "Batman: Arkham Knight," particularly when playing with graphic cards with only 2GB of memory and occasionally even with a 4GB card.

"Based on fresh tests with the new update, there are marginal improvements to the title, but the underlying issues remain much the same," Leadbetter wrote in his comprehensive review.

There are certain updates, but Digital Foundry still recommends pairing the 2GB card with a Nvidia GPU, limiting frame rate to 30 fps and dropping textures and shadow resolution. VRAM issues still plague the "Batman: Arkham Knight" PC version with stutters in the gameplay experience.

Although he praised the developer for its work on the game, Leadbetter concluded, "...the ability to customise the 'Arkham Knight' on PC for the best experience is far more limited than it should be."

Recently, Warner Bros. and game developer Rocksteady Studios revealed that "Batman: Arkham Knight" will not push through with plans for a dual-GPU setup. The announcement to drop SLI and Crossfire support was made in the game's Steam forums.

"We've been working with our development and graphics driver partners over the last few months to investigate utilizing multi-GPU support within 'Batman: Arkham Knight,'" a representative wrote. "The result was that even the best case estimates for performance improvements turned out to be relatively small given the high risk of creating new issues for all players. As a result we've had to make the difficult decision to stop work on further multi-GPU support."

This is just another setback of many technical issues since the PC game's release in June 2015. However, the developer is trying to satisfy existing players by offering a slew of exciting additions in the free November DLC pack. A previous report from Latin Post revealed the different content available including the 2016 "Batman v Superman" Batmobile and the Batsuit Skin.

Other new features include the Crime Fighter Challenge Pack #4, two new Arkham episodes with controllable Catwoman and Robin characters, and Robin and Batmobile Skin Packs.
