Pending divorce proceedings between Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are now on hold as the two Hollywood stars battle to save their family.

British magazine Independent.ie reports just five months after announcing they were pulling the plug on their 10-year marriage the high profile couple is now believed to be attending private therapy sessions is hopes of preserving their union.

"It seems both Ben and Jen have decided that, for the time being, it's unnecessary for them to enter what could potentially be a messy and lengthy divorce battle," said a source. "Because they're in therapy they are still living together as friends, to avoid more upheaval for the family."

At the time their split was making daily headlines, the Academy Award-winning actor Affleck was also rumored to be romantically involved with his three young kids' nanny Christine Ouzounian.

Affleck repeatedly denied the rumors and recently reports have surfaced that he changed his cell phone number without telling Ouzounian in hopes of preventing her from being able to contact him.

Word is he and Garner are already making plans to spend the upcoming Christmas holiday together with their young children.

"Jen and Ben are figuring out right now how they can best spend the holidays together," said a source close to them. A source added Garner is intent on getting along with "Good Will Hunting" actor for the sake of their children.

With all the time they've been recently spending with one another, several media outlets have also reported the couple is now rumored to be expecting their fourth child together.

"Jen is interested in saving her marriage for her kids," said a source. "She is taking it day-by-day and Ben has really been a changed man of late, so it might just work out now that the dust has cleared."
