Floyd Mayweather Jr. Scores Big After Betting on Tyson Fury vs Wladimir Klitschko Title Bout
Floyd Mayweather Jr. scores big after betting on the Tyson Fury vs. Wladimir Klitschko title bout held in Germany.
The retired unbeaten boxer favored the undefeated Fury against the Kazakhstan-born heavyweight warrior. The English fighter captured the World Boxing Association, World Boxing Organization, International Boxing Organization and International Boxing Federation crowns from the 39-year-old "Dr. Steelhammer" via a unanimous decision, Boxing Scene reported.
With Fury's win, "The Money" also benefited and got almost five times of what he bet on Fury. Mayweather only parted with $4,800 before the match started and received $22,800 when it was done, Fight Hype informed.
This was not the first time that Mayweather earned a lot from betting on a game's result.
In May, he informed via Twitter that he won $200,000 from the Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets playoff game or Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals last season. The Warriors crushed the Rockets with a 35-point lead with the final score of 115-80.

On Instagram, he relayed that he earned more than $477,000 by betting in four games in a span of four days, including the showdown between the middleweight king Gennady Golovkin and his challenger Willie Monroe Jr. at The Forum in Inglewood, California.
"The last [four] days have been great. I'm getting paid while watching others entertain and perform. I don't do anything for free. I bet $350,000.00 and walked away with $827,272.73," Mayweather wrote on Instagram.
This year's highest paid athlete may truly have a knack in knowing who to bet for. It also helps that he is confident that he still has so much in his pocket, especially after securing at least $250 million from his May 2 battle against Manny Pacquiao, per an ESPN report.
Fury-Klitschko Rematch
Meanwhile, former titlist Klitschko, who had lost so much in his 28th title fight on Saturday, Nov. 28, at the Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf, acknowledged why he lost, Fight Hype noted.
"I couldn't find the right distance to land those shots...Tyson was quick with his hands and his body movement," the former heavyweight champ said.
Klitschko teases that this is not the end as they will still meet again after this fight. The two have a rematch clause in their contract, per another report from Fight Hype.
Fury, on the other hand, is also looking forward to fighting with Klitschko again.
"I'd like to do it all again," replied the new champion on the proposed Fury-Klitschko rematch.
Can Klitschko gain back what he lost?
