Seattle Seahawks' tight end Jimmy Graham injured his knee during his team's game with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Graham, the 29-year-old NFL athlete, had an unfortunate landing after a "jump ball in the end zone," NFL.com informed. He was reportedly carted off the field in the fourth quarter of the Seahawks-Steelers match.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll confirmed it to be a major injury concerning the patellar tendon. The Goldsboro, North Carolina football player is expected to miss the remaining of the 2015 season and will also undergo a surgery.

Graham will be missed

Luke Willson, who will step into Graham's role as the team's starting tight end, feels bad about what happened to his teammate, especially because he is a hardworking player, The Seattle Times notes.

"Everybody loves him. Great guy in the locker room and extremely hard worker, for a guy with his talent to see him work as hard as he does is pretty cool and you don't ever want to see that happen to anyone on the NFL let alone a guy like Jimmy," the 25-year-old tight end said.

Willson believes that Graham could work everything out and be able to come back next year.

Even Carroll, who just trained Graham this season, has very nice words to say for the former New Orleans Saints player.

"We've loved Jimmy Graham coming to our team and we are very grateful that he has been a part of it and we are going to miss the heck out of him the rest of the season," Carroll said.

The University of Miami alumnus entered the league in 2010 via a third-round pick in the NFL draft that year, ESPN Stats noted. He was chosen by the Saints to play in their camp and he stayed with them until the end of the 2014 season. Graham was consistent in his attendance and attended 15 to 16 games of every season with the Saints. It was only during his stint with Seattle this year that he was bound to miss all games after the 10th game.

His most productive seasons were 2011 and 2013. He delivered 11 touch downs and 1,310 receiving yards in the 2011-2012 season as well as posted 16 touch downs and 1, 215 receiving yards in the 2013-2014 season.

In March, the Saints and the Seahawks engaged in a trade. Saints let go of Graham and a fourth-round pick for center Max Unger and a first-round pick, noted NFL.com.
