Some have suggested that it is time for Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova, his girlfriend of 12 years, to get married. Before they take that step, however, perhaps the lady in Enrique's life should meet his father, musician Julio Iglesias.

Recently, Julio say down with Mirror and made a confession.

"You know I have to tell the truth, I have never met Anna," he admitted.

Iglesias, now 38 years old, met Kournikova, now 32 years old, back in 2001. Kournikova was the sexy music video model for Iglesias's 2001 hit, "Escape."

"Yes, my wife, and my kids and his brothers have, but I have never met her, no, no, never," Julio continued.

According to Mirror, Julio had to hide "sadness" while discussing the issue.

"I don't know how [come]," he explained. "My kids are very independent, and it is difficult to see Enrique because he is all over the world, but Anna is very beautiful. They have good taste my kids."

Some reports have claimed that Julio and Enrique are no longer speaking.

"I am very proud of Enrique; he is a super guy," Julio said. "You know it's not as easy to follow in the same steps as that of the father. Like if you play tennis, normally the kid doesn't play tennis like the father."

Enrique recently released his 10th album, a bilingual piece titled Sex and Love (Sexo y Amor), which features songs I'm a Freak and Heart Attack.

"But Enrique is in the same class of guys like Michael Douglas and Liza Minnelli," the Spanish singer, who is currently touring, said. "The music is very different to mine, and he has gone his own way. I don't like to interfere with that."

Julio's son will be touring with Pitbull this fall.

"I don't have to say whether I like it or not," the 70-year-old father said. "He is doing very well. He is a clever guy, and he is very charming."
