Tiger Woods may be leaning toward retiring, following in Kobe Bryant's footsteps.

Only days after the Hall of Fame bound guard and Los Angeles Lakers star announced this will be his final NBA season, the former top ranked golfer is also rumored to be contemplating hanging up his clubs for good.

"Tiger has seen Kobe's announcement like the rest of the world and he feels where Kobe is coming from," a source told Hollywood Life. "He is contemplating retiring himself. He would have already done it, but he had to fulfill many of his sponsorships that require him to get paid if he plays. But Tiger has lost the love to play anymore and would like to retire sooner than later."

Recent times have proven tough for the now 39-years-old Woods. In addition to struggling with an assortment of injuries, he has also struggled with his game, often unable to perform like the golfer who once reigned as the game's top performer.

It's all led to growing speculation the end might be near for the man who once seemed destined to easily eclipse Jack Nicholson's record of 18 majors.

"There is no timetable for this and that's been the hardest adjustment -- that I don't know," Woods said in discussing his recent ailments and what his future might hold. "So where is the light at the end of the tunnel? I don't know, so that's been hard."

In the wake of Bryant's recent announcement, Woods reflected, "You add up all those games, it takes a toll on the body. And eventually, it just doesn't heal anymore. That sport is so fast and so athletic and quick. It's just tough. It's been tough to watch him go through the season he's had."

In making his plans official, Bryant wrote in an open letter, "My body knows it's time to say goodbye."
