‘Final Fantasy 15’ Updates: Entire Game Now Playable, Team Focuses on Optimization Ahead of 2016 Release
The pre-beta development stage of "Final Fantasy 15" took a while, but now progress has been revealed. Finally, the game is taking shape and its hotly-anticipated release is looking closer than it has ever looked.
According to a report from Gematsu, programmer Kitade showed up on the game's official forums to update the fanbase on the progress of the much-awaited "Final Fantasy 15." The programmer revealed that the whole fantasy adventure can now be played by the developers.
"We're at the point where we can play the game in its entirety from start to finish," Kitade said in the forum pages. "From this, everyone on the development team can get an overall view on the game."
The developer explained that the team is now at a stage of polishing the elements of the game, making adjustments, preparing for the "Final Fantasy" completion and generally making sure in the best shape possible. Notably, the first half of the game is ready.
While the "Final Fantasy 15" still a few months away from the launch, Kitade explained, "The first half of the game is finished with the quality of a final product, and you get the sense you're playing it in its final form."
The new game is being anticipated by many of the community's fans. According to a report from VG247, Square Enix might be up to receive a new demo soon after the well-received Episode Duscae. Director Hajime Tabata revealed the new demo in an interview with Chinese website VGTime.
More story details were also shared by Square Enix during the Tokyo Game Show earlier this year, a report from IGN said.
According to the game representatives on the conference, King Regis will protect the kingdom of Lucis by placing a magical shield around the entire land. It's an effective method but proves to be a terrible strain on the king's body, making them all vulnerable to their rival Nifelheim empire.
Meanwhile, Luna resumes her duty as the youngest Oracle ever in Tenebrae. The developer divulged that the mysterious female shares a past with Noctis, although it wasn't specified what the nature of the relationship was. A dark-haired woman named Gentiana was also spotted in a Luna art piece, someone who will reportedly play a significant role.
"Final Fantasy 15" for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One is slated to be released in 2016. The official launch date will reportedly be announced at an event in March 2016.
