Ellie Goulding has reportedly reunited with former boyfriend Niall Horan after it's been revealed that her relationship with Dougie Poynter has "hit a rough patch." The "Love Me Like You Do" singer was seen with Horan recently at the annual iHeartRadio and KISS FM Jingle Ball in Dallas on Tuesday night.

Goulding was among the artists who performed at the annual music festival. Tove Love, One Direction and Demi Lovato were also there. Horan and Goulding caught up with each other backstage where they posed for a photo together.

Pop Sugar shared a photo of the former couple. The pair seemed happy to see each other again after their much-publicized romance in 2013. Goulding and Horan both had huge smiles on their faces.

Goulding and Horan's reunion came after a source told Mirror UK that she and her boyfriend of 18 months have agreed to temporarily keep a distance from each other. Poynter and Goulding have reportedly called time off on their relationship because of their busy schedules.

The source claimed Goulding has been busy touring Europe and the US to promote her new album "Delirium. " Meanwhile, Poynter has also been busy modelling back in the UK. The many times they've spent apart have reportedly taken a toll in their relationship.

"They are taking a break. Their work commitments have meant they have been spending more and more time away from each other and it has made it difficult to maintain their relationship. They've decided to have a temporary break to see if they can work things out," the source said.

The source further told Mirror UK that both Goulding and Poynter are "very sad that things have hit a rough patch." Right now they are reportedly "trying to see if a little distance can help them get through it."

Both Goulding and Poynter have yet to comment on these recent claims in their relationship. However, whatever the "Starry Eyed" singer is going through with the McFly bassist clearly didn't dampen her mood at the Jingle Ball festival. Nor did it affect her cherry disposition when she met up with Horan.

According to Pop Sugar, Goulding had admitted back in 2013 that she had gone out on a few dates with the One Direction singer. At the same time it was believed she was also in a relationship with Ed Sheeran. However, Goulding denied ever being in a relationship with Sheeran.
