Kobe Bryant had his best game of the season on Wednesday night, as he led the Los Angeles Lakers to a 108-104 win against the Washington Wizards at Verizon Center in Washington.

Bryant erupted for a season-high 31 points on 10-of-24 shooting from the field, while also tallying three points and two rebounds. The 17-time All-Star also turned back the hands of time in the final period, scoring 12 points in the fourth quarter.

"The last couple of minutes, we tried to get to him," Lakers coach Byron Scott said via USA Today. "Just in case they foul so he could try to make the free throws. You know, just so he can do what he does. Either he's going to take the shot because he lives for those moments, or he's going to make the correct play and find the guys who are open."

The 20-year veteran made a huge pull-up jumper against Wizards guard Bradley Beal with 30.8 seconds left in the game to give the Lakers a 103-101 lead en route to their third win of the season.

"It was like a movie, man," Lakers sophomore guard Jordan Clarkson said of the Bryant's clutch baskets. "Him taking it over towards the end and making those shots, it was crazy."

Sophomore guard Jordan Clarkson also had another productive night, as he finished with 18 points on top of four rebounds and three steals, while Julius Randle had a double-double with 15 points and 19 rebounds.

D'Angelo Russell, the second overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, racked up 13 points, four rebounds, four steals and three assists, while Louis Williams added 12 points and seven steals for the Lakers.

On the other hand, John Wall finished with 34 points and 11 assists on top of seven rebounds and two steals, while Marcin Gortat also had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Bryant admitted after the match that he did not expect to receive a warm reception from fans in their last two games -- against the Philadelphia 76ers and Wizards. The five-time NBA champion is on his farewell tour, as he has already announced that he will retire after the 2015-16 NBA season.

"I thought everybody hated me," said Bryant after receiving plenty of love from Wizards fans in his final game in Washington. "It's really cool, man."
