Kerry Washington and her NFL husband Nnamdi Asomugha are rumored to be headed for divorce court.

According to Ace Showbiz, the "Scandal" star and the former NFL Pro Bowl player have already "pretty much separated."

Reports are the 38-year Washington plans to formally file for a split sometime after the new year. One of the couple's primary issues stems from Asomugha not having anything to do since being cut by the San Francisco 49ers in late 2013.

In time, that reportedly led him to resent his wife and view her as "the one who's given up on their marriage."

At one point, the two were barely on speaking terms, and attempts to patch things up in couple's therapy proved to have little impact.

Throughout much of their marriage, the two have been plagued by constant reports of strife. As far back as December 2014, Hollywood Life reported the two were rumored to be headed for splits-ville after roughly just a year of matrimony.

Back then, a source told the website the divorce rumors were just that, and the couple was actually looking forward to spending the holidays together as a family.

The "I Think I Love My Wife" star gave birth to the couple's first child in May 2014, whom the couple named Isabelle.

In sharing news of her pregnancy at the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, Washington, with her husband by her side, beamed, "I feel like I have the best date of the night. My little accessory tonight."

Later that night, the two attended the Weinstein Company and Netflix after-party together, where Washington raved, "Life is truly extraordinary right now."

As for the baby bump she was sporting, Washington told reporters, "I don't want to give up too much information, but it's going great."
