Wildfire season is in full blaze, with fires burning throughout the entire west coast and elsewhere in the country. The Spokane Fire Complex, burning near Spokane, Wash., first erupted on Aug. 21 and has since destroyed over 7,200 acres of land and several homes as firefighters continue in their attempts to contain it.

A wildfire in San Luis Obispo County, Calif. has been steadily burning for 10 days now, having blazed through more than 5,500 acres in the past 24 hours. This brings the total acreage of the inferno dubbed the "Chimney Fire" to 37,101 as of the early morning hours on Tuesday Aug. 23.

A raging wildfire that ignited on the morning of Tuesday Aug. 16 has continued to spread through the Cajon Pass area of San Bernardino County, west of Interstate 15. Over 34,000 homes and other structures are under threat from this fire and well over 80,000 residents have been evacuated. Numerous road closures are in effect in surrounding communities, while several schools and even hospitals have been closed.

A wildfire is raging out of control in San Bernardino County, Calif., having exploded to 30,000 acres in size since igniting just over 24 hours ago. More than 80,000 people have been evacuated from their homes as the fire continues to spread, with firefighters making zero progress in containment. A state of emergency has been declared.
