Star Wars Episode 8 Spoilers: 5 Things Carrie Fisher Revealed During Star Wars Celebration Panel
Carrie Fisher is without a doubt one of the biggest icons in film as she created the role of Princess Leia and has since been recognized as Leia. During a Panel with Warwick Davis, Fisher spoke about her journey and her work on "Star Wars." The following are five things that Fisher revealed at the "Star Wars Celebration."
1. The Star Wars hair
If fans though that Fisher liked the hair styles that she was given in the film, then they are wrong. Fisher told Davis that she never understood where the hairdos came from and that they were not to her liking. She also noted that during pre-production they showed her other designs that were even more dismal to the ones that she was eventually given in the film.
2. Gary is always around
Those who have followed the icon know that Fisher travels with her dog Gary. And at the panel that was not an exception. Gary went to the panel and sat next to Fisher. During the panel she also revealed that Gary has been on multiple Star Wars sets and was even at the red carpet for "The Force Awakens." Fisher also joked that she wished the Star Wars world would be more accepting of pets and she wished Gary could appear in one of the films.
3. Fisher's advice
Given the cult following that Fisher has gotten through the years, the actress gave advice to the new cast of "The Force Awakens." She told them that it would be very weird at first with all the press and that it would also be weird to have merchandise replicated after their characters.
4. Being on set for Episode VII
While she could not give any information on the upcoming Episode VIII, Fisher noted that being on set with her old cast mates was like a homecoming. However, she joked that the difference was that she and her old cast mates are now melting.
5. Autographs vs. selfies
In a modern age Fisher noted that fans are now more interested in taking selfies. They also want autographs, which she feels are more natural. As for the selfie, Fisher notes that they are not glamorizing and are really difficult to take. On that note she and Davis tried to take a number of selfies with the audience only to find out how confusing it could be.
