NBA Trade Rumors: Sacramento Kings Trade Ty Lawson for Ricky Rubio
Sacramento Kings is more determined this time for pursuing the trade deal for Minnesota Timberwolves' point guard Ricky Rubio in exchange with Ty Lawson.
This trade deal has not been pursued eagerly by the Kings until recently when Lawson reportedly missed a flight to Kentucky for the team's preseason game. It was reported that he missed the flight because of late night partying with Adrien Broner and teammates Ben McLemore and Willie Cauley-Stein, as reported by China Topix.
Ty Lawson's career has been shaky for the last year. His average points last year dropped from 15.2 points to only 5.8 points. His assist dropped from 9.6 to only 3.4. He has a worst record with Indiana Pacers as he only played 18.1 minutes per game and averaged 4.9 points and 4.4 assists in 13 games.
Sacramento Kings in their search for point guard sees Ricky Rubio as the best choice they could make. His record says he is one of the most talented playmaker in the league. He averaged 8.3 assists for his career and he is also a good defender. It can be recalled that before 2009 NBA draft Sacramento Kings selected Tyreke Evans instead Ricky Rubio despite fans obvious likeness for him, according to Chatt Sports Net.
In favor of the Kings eagerness for a trade deal, Ricky Rubio expressed willingness to leave Minnesota Wolves as indicated by Chat Sports Net. He said he wants to play with the winner.
But this trade deal is unlikely to happen since the Minnesota Wolves is reluctant to let go Spanish Ricky Rubio. But if they would consider the arrival of Kris Dunn, the June's fifth overall pick. They might give way for the trade after all new Wolves head Coach Tom Thibodeau is said to be planning to give Dunn the opportunity to become the starter this upcoming season as he wants him to grow together with the team's young core of Andrew Wiggins, Zach LaVine and Karl-Anthony Towns.
