Pew Research Center is known in the world as a fact tank that publishes different reports from a wide range of topics. The research center conducts public opinion polling, demographic research, and other content analysis.

This year, there are 19 striking findings that Pew Research found, that possibly shapes the United States to the attitudes and experiences of people coming from different countries.

Here are the 10 findings from Pew Research Center:

1. Hispanics are projected to be the largest racial or ethnic group in the 2020 U.S. elections. They will overtake black voters.

Hispanics will have a share of 13 percent of eligible voters in the 2020 elections. They are followed by blacks and Asians. Hispanics are expected to have 32 million eligible voters, the black community will have 30 million, and Asians are expected to have 11 million.

2. The number of Christians in the U.S. continues to decline.

In a telephone survey conducted by the Pew Research Center from 2018 to 2019, around two-thirds of U.S. adults, or 65 percent, describe themselves as Christians. However, this is 12 percent lower since 2009. Moreover, 26 percent of U.S adults described themselves as atheist, agnostic, or nothing in particular.

3. U.S. is no longer the leading country in admitting refugees.

Canada admitted more refugees than the U.S. in 2018. This is after the U.S. Congress created the nation's refugee program in 1980. Canada admitted 28,000 refugees both in 2017 and 2018 while the U.S. admitted 33,000 in 2017 and decreased into 23,000 in 2018. This is also the impact of new measures set by Trump administration in their immigration policy. In 2020, Trump administration is to set 18,000 refugees only.

4. Americans who have an unfavorable view of China reaches a new high.

Six out of 10 U.S. adults have a negative opinion about China. Since the Pew Research Center conducted the poll in 2005, an increase of 47 percent was significantly seen in 2018. The results of the poll also showed that they see China as a threat as well as Russia and North Korea.

5. People in many former communist countries in Europe see great improvements in their standard of living after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

There has been a large increase in people saying that their standard of living has increased since 1991 or after the fall of the Berlin Wall. In 1991, only 14 percent in Poland said that they see some changes in their standard of living and it surges in to 81 percent in 2019, which is more than five times higher. In Lithuania, only nine percent said that they see the improvements, but surprisingly it has increased to 70 percent this year.

6. Foreign-born living in U.S. increases since 1910.

In 2017, 14 percent of people living in the U.S. are foreign-born. There are 44 million immigrants living in the U.S. at present. This number is far from other countries. However, the number of foreign-born living in the U.S. is not the highest in the world. 25 countries in 2017 have higher foreign-born living in countries like Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and some other European countries like Switzerland, Austria, and Sweden.

7. The majority of U.S. military war veterans and American people say that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are not worth fighting.

An estimated 64 percent of U.S. military veterans said that the war in Iraq was not worth fighting and 58 percent said the same about the war in Afghanistan. Meanwhile, around 62 percent and 59 percent of U.S. adults also said that the war in Iraq and Afghanistan were not worth it.

8. The majority of Americans believed that they are tracked and monitored by the U.S. government.

Americans believed that their online and offline activities are tracked and monitored by the U.S. government. Statistically, around 62 percent believed that they are monitored by companies while 63 percent said that the U.S. government collected data about them.

9. Newspaper circulation falls to a historic low in 2018.

The numbers of a newspaper circulated has decreased in the past few years. In 2018, around 28.6 million newspapers produced both in print and digital were circulated during weekdays and 30.8 million every Sunday. However, these numbers are around nine percent smaller compared to the previous years.

10. Two-thirds of Americans support the legalization of Marijuana.

The use of marijuana in whatever purpose is still banned in the U.S. under federal law. However, the legalization of marijuana is supported by whites, blacks, Hispanics, Democrats, and Republicans. 91 percent of U.S. adults said that it should be legalized for a medical reason and 59 percent said for the purpose of recreation.
