5 Things You Can Do With Zoom That You Probably Didn't Know About
Zoom is becoming more popular these days, especially with the fact that many people across the globe are working from home and conducting meetings remotely. It has been considered "the star of quarantine communication."
However, Zoom's stardom may not be for long as the leading social media network, Facebook, is a worthy competitor considering its new platform. Recently, it announced the new update to its Messenger feature, allowing users to take part in calls with 50 other people maximum, in the so-called "private rooms."
While many Facebook users have to wait for this latest development, Zoom remains the best option, not to mention today's most widely-used platforms for business meetings anywhere in the world.
5 Zoom Features Many People Didn't Know Existed
Most Zoom users are already familiar with the platform's essential operation. But what many people do not know is that it has a lot of shortcuts and tricks. Whether you are planning an important meeting with a team for work, or a get-together with friends, Zoom lets you interact and appear just the way you want.
Here are five of the things you can do with Zoom, and they will surely amaze you:
Enter the "Meeting Room" Silently
If you are attempting to enter a Zoom video call minus all the noise, you can choose to enter the meeting silently. This tip is particularly helpful when discussions have already started, and you are joining them late.
Simply open the app and click "settings." Click the box found on the 'audio' tab to add a checkmark to "always" mute the microphone every time you join a meeting. Then, turn the mic back on during the call using the button found at the screen's bottom part.
Mute Everyone Simultaneously
For reasons most appropriate, there may be times when you need to mute all those on the call simultaneously. You can simply do this by hitting "âCmd+Ctrl+M" from your Mac, or Alt+M on your PC.
Another special feature of Zoom is that you can use the spacebar when muting and unmuting yourself. If you opt to add to the conversation, but you don't want to leave your Zoom unmuted, just press the space bar and hold, and it will unmute you temporarily.
Impress the Board Using the Beauty Filter
Certainly, everybody wants to look their best, but the so-called "quarantine haircuts," and standard webcams are not quite a pleasing combination. Fortunately, the developers of Zoom have already thought of that.
Have Your Meeting Recorded and Saved in Your Computer
There are countless reasons why you should record your video calls. First and most important of all, you may need to use it as your reference for later notes, or share it with those who were not part of the meeting but need the information discussed there.
Quick Invite Feature
Say, you are in the middle of a meeting, and you realize you forgot to send a crucial co-worker an invite to the meeting, you can always send a quick invite.
For an instant invitation to the meeting, simply key-in, "âCmd+I" from your Mac, or "Alt+l" on your PC to open the "Invite" window. Then, click on the Email tab, copy its URL, and send it to those you want to invite and join the meeting.
You can click on the "Contacts" option, too, to directly invite a co-worker if he is not on your contact list yet.
