The St. Louis Cardinals had started their game with the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium, with the pitch scheduled for 9:10 p.m. on Memorial Day.

Justin Williams had hit a home run off the right-field foul pole to cut the Dodgers' lead in half to begin the top of the sixth inning. It has ended Trevor Bauer's shutout, according to Los Angeles Times report.

Bauer had, however, struck out Jack Flaherty on four pitches while Zach McKinstry was making his second error of the game. The error had allowed Tommy Edman to reach first base safely.

Cardinals vs Dodgers Predictions

Cardinals and Dodgers are considered to be the best in the National League, according to an Action Network report. The Dodgers might be in third place in the NL West. However, they are only two and a half games behind the first-place Padres after being beaten by the Giants over the weekend.

On the other hand, the Cardinals are first place in NL Central, with their one-half game ahead of the Cubs and two up on the Brewers.

Dodgers are predictably heavily favored, with Bauer slated to start on Monday. In addition, the run total is set at only 6.5, with Flaherty pitching for the Cardinals.

Flaherty has an 8-1 record this season after 10 starts. He also has a 2.84 ERA and is averaging more than 5 2/3 innings per start. However, Flaherty has never had an Expected Fielding Independent Pitching xFIP below 3.42 in a season.

xFIP is a better indicator of a pitcher's ability moving forward than ERA. The model suggested that the Cardinals should be scoring 4.3 runs per game.

There is a slight edge to the Dodgers bet based on the strength of their lineup and pitching. A prediction is inching Cardinals 4, with Dodgers 3, according to a Sports Book Wire report.

Cardinals had key injuries in their team with Andrew Miller RP and Harrison Bader CF both out, Covers reported. Paul DeJong and Jordan Hicks RP are also among the team players injured.

Brusdar Graterol RP, Corey Seager SS, and A.J. Pollock OF are out for the Dodgers. It also includes Corey Knebel RP and Tommy Kahnle RP. Meanwhile, the first pitch for New York Mets and Arizona Diamondbacks is set to start at 9:40 p.m.
